Cook
We are looking for a skilled Cook to prepare meals according to menu. You will cook dishes that are mainly based on the Italian cuisine but not limited to the contemporaneous cooking methods.
An excellent cook must be able to follow instructions in cooking and serve well-prepared meals. Must be deft in moving around the kitchen and apt in multi-tasking. Experience in using various ingredients and cooking techniques is also important.
The goal is to help preserve and enhance our reputation so we can expand our clientele.
Responsibilities
- Sets up all needed ingredients and cooking equipment
- Prepares ingredients to use in cooking (chopping and peeling vegetables, cutting meat etc.)
- Prepares and cook menu items according to established recipes and quality standards.
- Ensures that all food products are consistently prepared and served to the restaurant’s specifications.
- Collaborates with the chef or kitchen manager to plan menus and create new dishes.
- Contributes ideas for menu improvements and updates.
- Monitors and manage inventory levels of food and kitchen supplies.
- Notifies the kitchen manager of low or depleted stock.
- Works efficiently to meet service times and ensure timely delivery of meals.
- Coordinates with other kitchen staff to streamline the cooking process
- Cooks food in various utensils or grillers
- Keeps a sanitized and orderly environment in the kitchen
- Ensures all food and other items are stored properly
- Checks quality of ingredients
Requirements and skills
- High school diploma or equivalent; Diploma from a culinary school will be an advantage
- Proven experience as cook
- Experience in using cutting tools, cookware and bakeware
- Knowledge of various cooking procedures and methods (grilling, baking, boiling etc.)
- Ability to follow all sanitation procedures
- Ability to work in a team
- Very good communication skills
- Excellent physical condition and stamina
