Pizzaiolo 

We are looking for a Pizza Chef / Pizzaiolo to join our staff and make delicious pizzas based on both traditional and modern recipes.

Pizza Chef Responsibilities include preparing pizza dough, slicing and chopping toppings like vegetables and meats and following customers’ orders considering special requests. To be successful in this role, you should have experience with various pizza types and be available to work during business hours.

Ultimately, you will help increase client satisfaction by preparing high-quality pizzas.

Responsibilities

• Prepares pizzas out of our menu and based on custom orders
• Bakes a wide variety of pizza dough, including thin crust, thick crust and cheese-stuffed
• Operate pizza ovens and other kitchen equipment to cook pizzas.
• Monitor cooking times and temperatures to ensure pizzas are cooked to perfection.
• Washes and chop vegetables (for example, tomatoes, peppers, onions and mushrooms).
• Cuts, slices and grills meats like chicken, ham and beef.
• Monitors food stock and place orders, as needed.
• Uses less traditional ingredients to appeal to a larger audience (for example, vegan cheese and gluten-free flour).
• Recommends new recipes to update our menus.
• Accommodates customer requests for pizza customization.
• Provides recommendations based on customer preferences.
• Works efficiently to meet service times and ensure timely pizza delivery.
• Coordinates with kitchen staff to synchronize pizza orders.
• Maintains a clean cooking station and sterilize equipment.

Requirements and skills

• Diploma from a culinary school is a required.
• Previous experience as a ‘Pizzaiolo’ or in a similar pizza-making role is preferred.
• Familiarity with professional kitchen equipment and brick or stone oven.
• Proficient in pizza dough preparation, shaping, and baking.
• Knowledge of various pizza styles and regional variations.
• Ability to create new and appealing pizza recipes.
• Ability to communicate effectively with kitchen staff and customers.
• Flexibility to work in shifts, including weekends and evenings.
• Ability to stand for extended periods and perform physically demanding task.
